Dr. A. Rathinasamy, Ph.D. (Soil Science & Agrl. Chemistry) is presently working as Professor and Head of the Department of Social Sciences, Horticultural College and Research Institute, Periyakulam. He got ICAR Junior Research Fellowship for his M.Sc. (Agri) programme in Soil Science & Agrl. Chemistry. He has 20 years of experience in undergraduate teaching in the field of soil science. He has handled more than 40 courses for under graduate programme in various fields of soil science. He has guided 5 post graduate and 2 doctorate students of horticulture as advisory members. He has involved in training of extension officials and farmers in INM and also under IAMWARM scheme. He has published 3 text books, 12 research articles in national and international journals. He has specialized in Soil Fertility Management and micronutrient fertilization in horticultural crops.
