Awadh Kishore Roy (Born:1950) Professor, University Department of Botany, T.M. Bhagalpur University, obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree from the same University. He is actively engaged in teaching & research for more than two & half decades and has published 110 original research papers and more than dozen Ph.D. students and two books of research level. He is the fellows and members of different scientific organizations (Indian & Foreign). The main thrust area of research of Dr. Roy is on “Post harvest fruit pathology and mycobial degradation of seeds and plant parts under storage. He has also worked on mycorrhzae as Biofertilizer. “His contribution on quality control of plant drugs in relation to bio-deterioration of active principles and elaboration of mycotoxins are new approach in the field of biomedical research, for which he has been awarded Prof. Y.S. Murty Medal (All Indian Bot. Soc.) in 1989 and also honoured with D.Sc. (HC) by the Intern. Open University, Sri Lanka in 1997. He has delivered several invited lectures on “quality of herbal drugs and drug plants” in Germany and Indonesia and on “Post harvest handling of fruits” in Thailand.
