Prof. (Dr.) A.K. Thukral has been -on the faculty of Guru Nanak Dev University. Amritsar since 1980. where he held the office of the Head of the department from 1993-1996. An alumnus of the University of Saugar, Saugar and BITS. Pilani. he has been a post—doctoral fellow at the University of Moscow. Moscow from 1984-1986. At Amritsar he has been teaching courses on Theoretical and Environmental Biology, Computer‘ Applications in Botany and Ecology’. Remote Sensing and GIS, and Plant Physiology and Biochemistry. He has supervised three Ph.D. students and has published 50 research papers. Besides his current liabilities of teaching and research. Prof. Thukral is also co-ordinator of UGC programmes for M.Sc. [I-ions.) Environmental Sciences. and Computer Applications in Botany at the University.
