Cecilia Monaco

Dr. Cecilia Monaco was borne on 6th Nov 1961 in Esquel, Argentina. She did her M.Sc. in Plant Protection from National University of La Plata. She got her Ph.D. in Natural Sciences (Ecology) in December 2002. She has 18 years of teaching and research experience in issues related to Plant Pathology and Biological control of Plant diseases. Presently she is Assistant Professor, course of Phytopathology, Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry National University of La Plata, Argentina. She has acquired skills within specialization areas for problem analysis and diagnosis, design and execution of research and development experimental programs and integration in multidisciplinary work teams. She has extensively worked on biological control of plant diseases. She has discovered new methods to control foliar pathogens like Helminthosporium and Bipolaris. Her work on phyllosphere mycoflora is well recognized throughout the world. She is course director on biological control of Soil-borne Plant pathogens. She has published more than 25 research papers in journals of well repute. She is well versed with English and Spanish. She was awarded fellowship of Comision de Investigaciones Cientificas de la Provincia de Buenos Aries, Argentina During 1988-1990 and University of Siena ( Italy) in 1990-1991.
