D.C. Pant was Professor Department of Mycology and Plant Pathology in the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and has more than 35 years of research experience with the Discomycetes. He was also responsible for establishing the BHUPP herbarium and served as its founder Curator till his retirement in 2003. Currently he is an Emeritus Professor at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
