K. Ramamoorthy, Professor of Seed Science and Technology, now Dean of Agricultural College and Research institute, Madurai did his M.Sc. (Ag.) at TNAU during 1975-77.  He was a recipient of prestigious Khaira Research Fellowship of College of Agriculture, Calcutta University, W.B. for his Ph.D. under the able guidance of Prof. R.N. Basu, Chairman, West Bengal State Agricultural Commission and former Vice-Chancellor of Calcutta University. He has 30 years of experience in teaching and research and published 105 research papers in journals of national and international repute.  He has authored seven books in agriculture and allied subjects. As a member, he serves in the Committees for monitoring and upgradation of Seed Testing Laboratories, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and Board of Studies, TNAU, Coimbatore. He is acting as the panel member in the editorial board of four leading national journals in Agriculture and now is the Principal Investigator in a number of schemes funded by Government of India, ICAR and private organizations
