Dr. (Mrs.) Monica Sharma is Assistant Professor, Department of Plant Pathology, Dr.  Y. S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan. She did her B. Sc. from Delhi University; M. Sc. from Department of Mycology and Plant Pathology, Dr.  Y. S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan; Ph. D. and Post-Doctorate from Justus-Liebig University, Giessen, Germany. She received University Gold Medal and Gold Medal from "Himotkarsh" academy, Una, for excellence in Academics as Topper in M. Sc. Horticulture. She also received Certificate of Merit and Certificate of Honour during her M. Sc. She received STIBET fellowship, sponsored by DAAD and BASF, Germany during her Ph. D. Programme. She has published more than 19 research papers in national and international journals, 4 book chapters, one edited book and one manual. Her main work is on molecular plant pathology including molecular plant-microbe interaction, induced resistance, fungal and bacterial molecular biology.
