Dr. MD HEDAYETULLAH, PhD., is an Assistant Professor/Scientist, AICRP on Chickpea, Directorate of Research, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Kalyani, Nadia, West Bengal. Presently, acting as an Officer In-Charge under All India Coordinated Research Project on Chickpea. Former Agronomist, NABARD, Balasore, Odisha, India. Former Assistant Professor, M.S. Swaminathan Institute of Agriculture Science, Centurion University of Technology and Management, Gajapati, Odisha, India. Former Assistant Professor, College of Agriculture, Tripura, Government of Tripura, India. Dr. Hedayetullah acquired a Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) degree from H.N.B. Garhwal University, UK, India. He received Master of Science (Agronomy) from Palli Siksha Bhavana, Institute of Agriculture, Visva Bharati University, Sriniketan, West Bengal, India. He received PhD (Agronomy) from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Mohanpur, Nadia, West Bengal, India. He was awarded the Maulana Azad National Fellowship Award from the University Grant Commission, New Delhi, India. He has received several fellowship grants from various funding agencies to carry out his research works during his academic career. Dr. Hedayetullah is author and co-author of 28 research papers, 5 review papers 24 book chapters and 4 books. He guided 2 students for post- graduate degrees and supervising 2 research students for doctor of philosophy in Agronomy. Dr Hedayetullah has to his credit a number of full length research papers, popular scientific articles, abstract, proceedings and technical bulletins. He has attended more than 30 National and International Seminar / Symposium / Conference / Workshop / Training courses. Co- PI of Ad-Hoc project entitled “Creation of Seed Hubs for increasing Indigenous Production of Pulses in India” Sponsored by ICAR- Indian Institute of Pulses Research implemented at Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Kalyani, Nadia, West Bengal since 2017 till now. Co- PI of Ad-Hoc project entitled “Enhanching pulses production for food and nutritional security improved livelihoods and sustainable agriculture in West bengal” sponsored by International Centre for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA- South Asia and China Regional programme) implemented at Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Kalyani, Nadia, West Bengal since 2017 till now. Co- PI of Ad-Hoc project entitled “Bio efficacy of herbicide on paddy” sponsored by Indofil implemented at Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Kalyani, Nadia, West Bengal. He is an Editorial Board Member of Amity Journal of Agribusiness (AJAB). He is the life members of the Crop and Weed Science Society, B.C.K.V, W.B, India; and Indian Society of Pulses Research and Development and Fire Asuk Sobuj. Member of International Institute Bengal Basin, Barkley, USA; He has gained his first hand extension experiences in different extension programmes of the Department/Institute/KVK/ Farmers-scientist  meets, Krishi  Mela etc. as  resource  person. Participate in “Krishi Darshan” telecasted by Door Darshan, Kolkata on “Water use efficiency in Summer (Boro) Paddy”. Participate in “Krishi Darshan” telecasted by Door Darshan, Kolkata on “Area expansion of Rabi pulses in Rice Fallow and Irrigation Management”. Live TV talk in “Krishi Darshan” by Door Darshan, Kolkata on “Irrigation management in crop production”. Participate in Farmers training programme organized by BCKV and funded by Ministry of Water Resources, Government of India also delivered several lectures in different parts of West Bengal. He was Organizer of several Front Line Demonstration (FLD) farmers training programme and funded by Indian Institute of Pulses Research, ICAR, under All India Coordinated Research Project on Chickpea.
