Narendra Kumar, completed his Ph.D. from
Indian Agricultural Research Institute,
New Delhi
and joined Agricultural Research Service (ARS) of ICAR in 2003. Dr. Kumar
started
his career as scientist at ICAR-VPKAS, Almora and developed technologies
for crop
diversification with off-season vegetables and pulses, intercropping, relay
cropping,
protected agriculture, weed management and resource conservation
practices.
He is associated in release of 18 varieties of pulses and oilseeds for
different
zones of
country. He is recipient of Dr. P.S. Deshmukh Young Agronomist Award 2009
and
Associateship Award 2016 by Indian Society of Agronomy. He is Fellow of Indian
Society of
Pulses Research. He has published > 100 research papers in international as
well as national
journals.
Dr. Kumar is presently Head, Division of Crop Production at ICAR-Indian
Institute of Pulses
Research,
Kanpur and involved in research activities related to crop diversification,
resource conservation
technology
and weed management in pulse based cropping systems.
