Dr. N. Janakiraman is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany, The Madura College (Autonomous), Madurai. He achieved remarkable milestones in his academic journey by receiving Gold Medals for both M.Sc. and M.Phil. degrees. His academic expertise extends to computer applications as he completed Post Graduate Diploma with first rank. He successfully cleared the Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test and earned his Ph.D. with specialization in Pteridophytes. His research contributions are substantial with 21 articles published in Scopus indexed journals and 15 articles in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, he authored 8 book chapters and deposited 3 sequences in GenBank. His publications have garnered significant recognition, with 1051 citations in Google Scholar, an h-index of 17 and an i10-index of 26. He also served as a coordinator for the Science Academies’ Lecture Workshop, sponsored by the IASc (Bengaluru), INSA (New Delhi) and NASI (Allahabad). Beyond academia, his multifaceted contributions to environmental protection campaigns and initiatives to restore cultural heritage have been appreciated by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
