P.K. Ghosh

P.K. Ghosh, was born on 13th December 1962 in West Bengal, graduated from Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan and obtained M.Sc (Agri) and Ph.D. degrees from GBPUA&T, Pantnagar with an illustrious academic record of excellence.  Dr. Ghosh started his career as an ARS scientist in 1993 at Directorate of Groundnut Research, Junagadh and presently serving as Director, Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute. He has been elected as Sectional President (Agriculture and Forestry Sciences) of Indian Science Congress Association for centenary year 2013. Dr. Ghosh by virtue of hard work and foresight established himself as a renowned agronomist of country in the field of cropping system research, soil fertility and fertilizer use, crop nutrition and soil quality, conservation tillage and soil water conservation. He is fellow of National Academy of Agricultural Science and Indian Society of Agronomy, Member of International Grassland Congress (representative of South East Asia), President of Range Management Society of India and is a recipient of many awards viz; Best Scientific Oratory Award, PPIC-FAI Award, AAAS Senior Award, IMPHOS-FAI Award, Groundwater Augmentation Award, Dr. K.G Tejwani Award, ICAR Team Award.  Dr. Ghosh has 163 publications in the journal of national and international repute including 6 books.
