P.K. Srivastava

Pankaj K. Srivastava is Professor of Geology in the University of Jammu, India where he has joined in the year 2005 as Associate Professor before becoming Professor in the year 2011. Prior to that he has served the University of Rajasthan as Assistant Professor for more than three years. Born on 5th May 1966, Professor Srivastava obtained his Ph.D. degree from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad and Master and graduate degree from H.N.B. Garhwal University. His main area of research work involves genesis of hydrothermal mineral deposits with the help of fluid inclusion and geochemical techniques. Tungsten and rare metal deposits associated with acid magmatism are of special interest. Apart from this the gold deposits of Mahakoshal belt, Gem bearing pegmatites of Great Mica belt, fluorite deposits of Rajasthan, and carbonate hosted Pb-Zn and Himalayan magnesite deposits have also been studied particularly with reference to evolution of ore bearing fluids and genesis of these deposits. Five research projects (funded by DST and UGC) and technical consultancies have been completed till date. Five Ph.D. and seven M.Phil. students, have been awarded their respective degrees under his Supervision. Professor Srivastava have 47 refereed publications in scientific International and National journals, 4 edited volumes and 1 book for his credit. He has more than 75 papers presented in different international and national seminars including the ESS sections of Indian Science Congress. After holding various responsibilities in ISCA, Professor Srivastava is now serving as reporter in Earth Science Section. Presently, he is holding office of the Dean (Student welfare) in Jammu University.
