Dr.Partap Singh received his early education at Panipat, Haryana. He obtained M.Sc. and M.Phil. Degrees from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. He joined Desert Regional Station of Zoological Survey of India as “Research Fellow” and worked on ecology of small mammals of Aravallis under the supervision of Prof. Prakash. For this work he was awarded Ph.D. by Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur. Indian Science Congress Association awarded him merit certificate in the category of young scientist of the work. An enthusiastic scientist, Dr. Singh is presently working as a lecturer in Zoology in Govt. Dungar College, Bikaner. A prodigious writer, he has published more than 25 research papers and two books. As a member of various societies and organizations, he is involved with wildlife conservation. His areas of interest are avian and mammalian ecology with special emphasis on their conservation.
