R. Indira Iyer

Dr. R. Indira Iyer obtained her Ph.D. in Botany from the University of Calcutta in 1987. She has several years of post-doctoral research experience. She has been a Woman Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT, Madras, India in 2013-2014. She was a TRF (teaching cum research fellow), a DST woman scientist, and a Research Associate (CSIR) earlier in Department of Genetics, University of Madras (Taramani campus), 600113. She was a Research Associate of the Department of Botany, University of Delhi, 110007 from 2002–2003 where she was involved in teaching and research. She has worked on the biosynthesis of bio-active metal nanoparticles by callus cultures, tissue culture of medicinal tree species for induction of somatic embryogenesis, in vitro production of secondary metabolites. She has several research publications in reputed journals and four book chapters. She has participated in conferences in India and abroad. She has been a lecturer in Biotechnology for PG students.
