Prof.
S. K. Borthakur is a retired Professor from the Department of Botany,
Gauhati University, Assam. His areas of specialization are Plant Taxonomy, Floristics
and Ethnobotany. He has in his credit 12 books and over 450 research paper
publications in the national and international journals of repute. About 50
Doctoral degrees has been awarded under his excellent guidance from Gauhati
University. He is also known as father of ethnobotany in North East India.
