Dr. S.K. Varma is Professor and Head, University Department of Botany, Tilkamanjhi Bhagalpur University and Coordinator, SAP (DRS) programme of the U.G.C. Prof. Varma is a born naturalist and Conservationist. His close association with flora and tribals of Bihar for more than three decades helped in establishing a strong school of Taxonomy. He has also Ethnobotany in the department. He is widely acclaimed for his contribution to strengthen teaching and research in taxonomy. He has also organized Scientific Live Herberium, Museum and Botanical garden in the department. He has written three books and has published more than hundred research papers. His present research interests involve. Taxonomic revisions and mongographs on some selected angiosperms groups of vascular and endangered flora of Bihar and Dibang District of Arunachal Pradesh.
