Dr. Susanta Banik has earned   B.Sc. (Ag.) from BCKV, Nadia; M.Sc. (Ag. Plant  Pathology) from ANGRAU, Hyderabad and Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from IARI, New Delhi. He enjoyed several scholarships (BCKV Merit scholarship) and fellowships (ICAR JRF, CSIR-JRF) while pursuing his education.. He has authored four books, nine book chapters, several popular articles and many research articles in reputed journals. He has been conferred ‘KC Mehta and Manoranjan Mitra Award’ by Indian Phytopathological Society. He is life member of some reputed national and international journals. He is  a member of editorial board in an international journal and reviewer of national journals. He has visited Spain on receiving DBT Overseas Research Associateship. He is at present actively engaged in research projects , teaching  Plant Pathology ( UG and PG),    along with  guiding M.Sc. and Ph.D. students in their research.
