Dr U.K. Tomar is having 33 years experience in Forest Genetics and Biotechnology. After M.Sc. (Botany), he did Ph.D. in Plant Tissue Culture from Delhi University (1989) and served as Assistant Professor in Hindu College, Delhi (1990) and Research Associate in TERI (1991). Since 1992, he is working as Sci. C to F at AFRI, Jodhpur. He is trained in Forest Genetics and DNA markers at Institute of Forest Genetics, Grosshansdorf, Germany (1995), University of Melbourne, Australia (2001) and as Neem Expert (2004) to China. He has conducted research on different aspects of tree improvement. About one hundred publications are in his credit and five research students awarded Ph.D. under his supervision. Presently he is head of F.G.T.B. Division.
