Dr. V. Singh is a well known taxonomist and ethnobotanist whom contributions have been recognised globally. He has retired from the post of Additional Director in Botanical Survey of India, and is associated with editorial board of Journal of Economic and Taxonomic Botany, an international quarterly periodical available on line, for last thirty two years, besides being reviewing specialist of his subject for many national and international journals. Wide knowledge of his field has also placed him on editorial list of National Flora of India, Botanical Survey of India, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India
