V.N. Naik

Dr. V.N. Naik (1971) retired from Dr. B.A.M. University, Aurangabad as a Reader in Botany in June, 1993. He has to his credit the publication of Twelve books on various aspects of plant sciences and published over 70 research papers in the national as well as international journals. One of his book ``Taxonomy of Angiosperms'' has earned the world reputation. More than ten students have been awarded Ph.D. degrees under his supervision. Dr. Naik has been responsible for building-up a Herbarium in the University, which preserves more than 60 thousands specimens. He is chairman of Shaliwahan Ayurved Seva Pratishthan, Aurangabad and a consulting taxonomist of Ayurved Research Institute, Pune, Uttan Vanaushadhi Sanshodhan Sanstha (Keahav srushti) Bhaider, Mumbai, Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya and Research Institute, Pune and other organizations.
