Vector-borne diseases (e.g., malaria, filariasis, dengue, chikungunya, Japanese encepha-litis, yellow fever, leishmaniasis etc.) are today one of the major causes of human suffering, both in terms of increasing morbidity/ mortality and stunting intellectual/ economic growth.
