On the basis of detailed taxonomic observations and field studies by the author, a species status of Alectra chitrakutensis (Rau) R. Prasad & R.D. Dixit is proposed to reestablishment against the subspecies status proposed by K.K. Khanna & Anand Kumar (2007) as Alectra parasitica A. Rich. subsp. chitrakutensis (Rau) K.K. Khanna & Anand Kumar.
