Dr. (Mrs.) Monica Sharma, working as Associate Professor, Department of Plant Pathology, College of Horticulture and Forestry, Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (Solan), Neri, Hamirpur. She has been working in the area of molecular plant pathology since 17 years. Dr. Sharma did her Ph.D. and Post-Doctorate from Justus-Liebig University, Germany. She is recipient of many academic and professional awards and fellowships. Her main area of work includes fungal and bacterial molecular biology, induced resistance and plant disease management through fungicides, biopesticides and nanoparticles. She had guided 13 M.Sc. students while 8 students are presently perusing their M.Sc. and Ph.D. under her guidance. Dr. Sharma has handled six research projects as PI/Co-PI funded by DST, DBT, World Bank, Ministry of Agriculture etc. She has more than 55 research papers of international and national repute, two manuals, two books, twelve book chapters and many extension publications to her credit. She also teaches various graduation and post-graduation courses.
