r. Nafees A. Khan was born on December 2, 1962. He has obtained B.Sc. (Hons.) M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Botany in 1981, 1983 and 1988 respectively, of Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. Soon after completing his Ph.D., he became Lecturer in the Department of Botany, Aligarh Muslim University. He started work on the interaction of mineral requirement and pyridoxine on productivity of mustard. Later the work was elaborated to the use of phytohomones and mineral nutrient interaction on the use efficiency of the crops. He has guided three students for Ph.D. and supervised research projects sponsored by Potash Research Institute of India and Department of Science and Technology. He became member of the Editorial Board of Indian Society for Plant Physiology. He has published about three-dozen research papers on his findings. He has been recipient of merit scholarships from High School to M.Sc. and JRF (NET) during his research.
