Dr. T.S. Thind is a renowned Plant Pathologist and has made rich contributions in the area of plant disease management. He served as Head, Department of Plant Pathology, and as Additional Director of Research in Punjab Agriculture University [PAU], Ludhiana.Presently, he is working as Adjunct Professor in PAU. Dr. Thind is specialized in need-based use of fungicides in plant disease management based on disease epidemiological parameters. He was awarded ‘French Govt. Fellowship’ for Post-Doctoral research at INRA, Bordeaux, France from 1985-1987 and was awarded ‘Le Grand Conseil Bordeaux Medal’ in 1992 for his research work on fungicide resistance in France. He has handled several research projects funded by ICAR, DST, UNDP, and Indo-French Centre for Advanced Research. Dr. Thind has pioneered research on the problem of fungicide resistance development in plant pathogens in India.  Dr. Thind has published more than 150 research papers in leading journals, 34 review articles, and 7 books. He has attended several international conferences of plant pathology in countries like Australia, England, New Zealand, Israel, France, Germany, Italy, China and Malaysia and convened and chaired technical sessions.
