There is no index of plant diseases caused by Fungi on plants belonging to family Leguminosae (Fabales). Often, therefore, it becomes difficult to identify the disease correctly and assign the causal fungus pathogen, and an already known disease is described afresh several times. Efforts have been made to compile a full index of fungi reported on both wild and cultivated Legume plants . The present index has been prepared in alphabetical sequence of the host-plants. Under each host, the fungi have been recorded alphabetically with their authorities. Names of hosts and pathogens have been given accurately and this is followed by places of occurrence with serial numbers of the literature citations in parenthesis. The compendium of such a nature is always useful and serves the basic purpose of providing access and ready references to important scientific and taxonomic literature on the subject within the defined scope.
