A new variety, Glochidion zeylanicum (Gaertn.) A. Juss. var. paucicarpum Chakrab. & N. P. Balakr. is described from the Jarawa Reserve of Middle Andaman Island, India.

Aeschynanthus micrantha C.B. Clarke has been reported as a new record for flora of West Bengal from Gorumara National Park of Jalpaiguri district.

Macaranga balakrishnanii Mitra & Chakrab. is combined with Tetrameles nudiflora R. Br.

The present paper deals with an additional distributional record of Chenopodium schraderianum Roem. & Schult. from India, as well as a new record for Flora of India. A detailed  description, ecology, phenology (only flowering and fruiting time), taxonomy and phytogeography have been provided along with illustrations.

The present paper highlights the occurrence of Soliva anthemifolia (Juss.) R.Br. as a new generic record to the flora of Himachal Pradesh collected from Pong dam wetland area of district Kangra (H.P.). This species has been found hitherto unknown to the flora of Himachal Pradesh. Notes on its morphological characters, habit and habitat are given.

The article deals with the ethnomedicinal value of Jatropha curcas. Besides, its phytochemical investigation has also been compiled. Jatropha curcas holds a place of unique pride among the various plants because of its multiple uses of great significance. The roots, stems, leaves, fruits, seeds, bark and latex of the plant are largely used for the treatment of many diseases in different parts of the world. Its oil is a perpetually renewable and safe source of energy.
