Dr. B.K. Garg (b. 1947), obtained M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from CCS, H.A.U. Hisar in the years 1972 and 1977 respectively. He served at Central Arid Zone Research - Institute (CAZRI), Jodhpur from 1977 to 2009 in various ! capacities from Scientists S-1 to Principal Scientist (Plant Physiology). Dr. Garg has specilization in stress physiology and worked on Drought and Salinity problems of the arid zone in more than 20 research projects. He has published over 100 research papers, 5 books, 50 chapters in books and many review articles. Dr. Garg was FA0 consultant at Republic of Yemen in 1998 for optimum use of saline water in agriculture. He has participated in several International Projects like BIOSAFOR (2006-2009) and Indo-US project on Drought Tolerance (1990-1998). He has attended numerous national and international conferences and project meetings. Dr. Garg has special expertise in research techniques and methodologies related to plant metabolism, photosynthesis and water relations. Since his retirement in 2009, he has published several research papers and two books namely Plant Analysis and Salinity Tolerance in Plants.
