The Manual entitled “Diseases and Insect-Pests of Important Vegetables” is specifically prepared for under-graduate and post-graduate students in Agriculture/Horticulture, teachers, extension Plant Pathologists & Entomologists and elite farmers. The Manual contains sixteen chapters dealing with important diseases and insect-pests of important vegetables. Each disease entry includes brief diagnostic symptoms, associated pathogen, predisposing factors and management while insect-pests include identification of insect-pests, their nature of damage and management. Coloured photographs of Symptoms and damage of major diseases and insect-pests are also included for easy identification. Besides this, chapters on fungicides, their formulations, pesticides registered, banned, refused registration and safe handling of pesticides have also been included which will help the students, extension workers and farmers in selection of proper pesticides to keep the diseases and pests below economic injury level.
