Dr. M. P. Divya, is borne at the Faculty of Forestry and she is the first women doctorate in the field of forestry across India and is currently positioned as the Professor and Head, Department of Forest Products and Wildlife, Forest College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Mettupalayam. She is actively involved in Teaching, Research and Extension activities for the past 27 years. She has evolved suitable agroforestry models for irrigated and rainfed land use systems and developed climate resilient agroforestry models for the state of Tamil Nadu. She has obtained external funded projects from National Medicinal Plants Board, Department of Environment, Tamil Nadu Forest Department and Tripura Forest Department. She has authored 2 books and more than 50 research articles. In addition, she has presented more than 100 research papers in the National and International Conferences. She is a recipient of 6 awards for her contribution in Forestry Research.She has travelled South Korea, Srilanka, Malaysia and Singapore for attending the conference.
